Helion Technologies provides dealership IT services in Atlanta for automotive and heavy truck stores, covering managed IT, cybersecurity, Tekion support and FTC Safeguards compliance. Help answers in 82 seconds on average. Field technicians handle the hands-on work.

What Dealership IT Services in Atlanta Have to Cover

Atlanta dealers don’t measure distance in miles. They measure it in traffic. One store sits inside the Perimeter, the next is up GA 400 in Alpharetta, and the group’s third rooftop might be an hour south in McDonough on a day when I-75 cooperates. Same DMS. Same phones. And one network has to hold all of it together while the sales floor is trying to close deals.

That’s our whole job. Helion Technologies has worked only with automotive and heavy truck dealerships since 1997, and this page is part of our dealership IT services by location hub. It covers what’s specific to Georgia.

  • Remote firstMost tickets close by phone or remote session, so nobody waits on the Downtown Connector.
  • On site when it needs handsField technicians go out for a dead switch, new cabling or a rooftop going live.
  • Watched around the clockNetworks, servers and security alerts are monitored 24/7 by a US-based team.

Live help runs 6 a.m. to midnight Eastern, Monday through Saturday. So a service advisor opening the drive at 6:45 on a Saturday morning in Marietta gets a person on the phone, and after-hours calls, weekend coverage and field dispatch all sit inside the monthly number instead of showing up later as separate invoices. No meter running.

Day to day, that’s managed IT support for dealerships. Got an IT manager already? Groups with their own staff use co-managed IT and keep that person in charge.

How a Georgia Heavy Truck Group Got Its Rural Stores Back Online

Here’s a Georgia example. A multi-location heavy truck dealer group in the state came to us with two problems that kept feeding each other. Its rural stores dropped off the network again and again, and a one-person internal IT department was carrying every one of those outages alone. Morale was sliding. Nobody can be in two shops at once.

The fix wasn’t clever. Helion overhauled the hardware and the network at those locations, which closed the gap, and the group’s people got a help desk to call, so a parts counter that opens before dawn finally had somebody on the other end who would pick up. Nothing fancy about it. Most of our weeks look like that one.

You won’t find the group’s name here, because we don’t put client names on these pages, but their chief operating officer’s own words sit a little further down, quoted word for word. Got several rooftops of your own? Our dealer groups page shows how one team covers all of them, and the page on heavy truck dealerships gets into why truck stores are their own animal.

Three Rules an Atlanta Dealership Answers To

Has Georgia passed one of those California-style privacy laws yet? It hasn’t. Which leaves a single federal rule doing nearly all of the work, plus a state breach notice statute that reads narrower than most people in the business expect when they finally sit down with it. The table is short for a reason.

RuleWhat it isDate or deadlineAt the store
FTC Safeguards RuleFederal rule for dealers that arrange financing or leasingAppliesAmended rule in force June 9, 2023A written security program, a qualified individual, multi-factor authentication, encryption, testing and vendor oversight. Get the checklist
Georgia consumer privacy lawNo comprehensive state privacy law has been enactedNo state lawNext attempt expected in 2027Nothing new to comply with at the state level today. The federal rule sets the bar.
Georgia breach notification lawO.C.G.A. Section 10-1-912Ask your attorneyNo fixed day countNotice goes out in the most expedient time possible. Credit bureaus too, above 10,000 residents.

So where did the privacy bill go? It got as far as the Senate, which passed Senate Bill 111 in 2025 under the name Georgia Consumer Privacy Protection Act, and then the House threw out every line of it and wrote in something else, so the bill the governor signed on May 11, 2026 is about rural hospital tax credits. Same bill number. Nothing about privacy left in it.

None of that shrinks the federal job. The Safeguards Rule in 16 CFR 314.4 still expects a written security program, plus a notice to the FTC within 30 days when a breach touches 500 or more consumers. The state statute is written for information brokers and government agencies, though the attorney general’s consumer office describes it as covering businesses that hold unencrypted personal records, which is why we say ask your attorney. Our dealership compliance team builds the program either way.

Dealership Cybersecurity in Atlanta, GA

June 2024 is the month every dealer remembers. Asbury Automotive Group, the public dealer group headquartered in Duluth, told investors in an SEC filing that the CDK Global attack hit its sales, service, inventory, customer relationship management and accounting functions. Stores kept selling and servicing cars. Slowly. The company later estimated the outage cost it between $0.95 and $1.15 per diluted share that quarter. We said it then and still mean it. CDK wasn’t a one-time wake-up call.

Nobody at a store can stop a vendor outage. What a store can control is its own side of the wire, and that’s where our dealership cybersecurity work lives. A live, US-based security operations center watches the network day and night. Multi-factor authentication goes on email and remote access. Backups get a test restore, because a backup nobody has ever restored is only a hope. The wider picture is in the state of dealership cybersecurity.

Not sure where your stores stand? A complimentary IT and cybersecurity assessment puts the answer in writing.

Where We Work Around Metro Atlanta

Georgia has 493 franchised new-car dealers, according to NADA Data 2025, and the Atlanta metro is the state’s largest car market. The metro mixes one of the country’s biggest public dealer groups with family-owned groups that have sold cars here for generations, and the truck side is just as busy, because three interstates meet downtown and freight never really stops. Big groups. Long drives between rooftops.

Statewide, dealers are represented by the Georgia Automobile Dealers Association. Our help desk and security team work from Baltimore, on the same Eastern clock as every store in the list below.

  • Atlanta
  • Marietta
  • Alpharetta
  • Roswell
  • Duluth
  • Norcross
  • Lawrenceville
  • Buford
  • Kennesaw
  • Smyrna
  • Sandy Springs
  • Decatur
  • Morrow
  • McDonough

Don’t see your city? The list isn’t a boundary. We support automotive dealerships and heavy truck dealerships across Georgia and nationwide. Stores in other states too? We have pages for Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Philadelphia, Washington, DC, Baltimore and Miami-Fort Lauderdale. On the West Coast, see dealership IT services in Los Angeles.

Does Helion Technologies offer dealership IT services in Atlanta?
Yes. Helion Technologies supports automotive and heavy truck dealerships across metro Atlanta with managed IT, cybersecurity, Tekion support and FTC Safeguards compliance. Most help is remote and starts in 82 seconds on average, and field technicians handle the work that needs hands.
What do managed IT services cost for an Atlanta dealership?
Pricing follows your store count and the services you choose. There’s no published rate card. Still comparing vendors? Start with our look at the best managed IT providers for dealerships. After-hours support, weekend coverage and field dispatch are part of the monthly number, so a Saturday outage in Kennesaw doesn’t come back as a surprise invoice. A price quote request gets you a real figure.
Does Georgia have a data privacy law that applies to car dealerships?
Not a comprehensive one. Georgia has no consumer privacy law like the ones in Texas or Virginia, because the privacy text of Senate Bill 111 was removed before the bill was signed in May 2026. The FTC Safeguards Rule still applies to any dealership that arranges financing or leasing. Check with your attorney on the state breach notice law.
How fast does an Atlanta store get help?
82 seconds is the average wait to reach a live support agent. Live help runs 6 a.m. to midnight Eastern, Monday through Saturday. Monitoring never stops.
We already have an IT manager. Can you work alongside them?
That’s what co-managed IT is for. Your IT manager keeps the keys and the relationships, and Helion adds the help desk depth, the security operations and the project hands that one person can’t cover alone across several rooftops. It can grow into full service later. Or shrink back.
Do you support heavy truck dealers in Georgia?
We do, and we have for years. Truck stores aren’t car stores with bigger bays. The parts counter is open before the sun is up, the shop runs late, and the next location over can be two hours down a state highway, so when something breaks at six in the morning nobody’s driving out to look at it. That’s why we watch those networks remotely. We wrote up the security angle in heavy truck dealership cybersecurity.
Where is Helion Technologies based?
Baltimore, Maryland, at 3000 Falls Road. Not Atlanta. Dealerships have been the only kind of client since 1997, and there are more than 2,000 of them on the books today. One handy thing if you’re in Georgia is that Baltimore keeps Eastern time too, so when it’s 7 a.m. at your store it’s 7 a.m. at our help desk.
