IT Support for Procede Dealers

Procede Software IT Support for Excede Truck Dealers

Procede supports Excede. Helion supports the servers, circuits, counter PCs, scanners, Wi-Fi and logins Excede depends on, at every store.

Procede Software IT support covers what Excede runs on, not the DMS itself. That means the SQL server or Azure-hosted link, store circuits, counter PCs, scanners, printers, logins and backups. Helion handles that layer for truck dealers.

Procede answers for Excede. Who answers for the counter PC?

Procede Software builds Excede for truck, bus and trailer dealers, and its support line promises U.S.-based experts. Call them when a repair order won’t close or a parts price comes back wrong. That’s their lane. A scanner that stopped talking to the parts counter PC at 6:30 in the morning isn’t. Different call.

Helion takes those calls for truck stores through its heavy truck dealership IT program. We run the network, devices, security and backups under Excede at every rooftop, and your people get one number to dial. If the trouble turns out to live inside Excede after all, Procede gets a clean ticket from us with the store, the user, the time and the list of things we already ruled out, so your service manager isn’t stuck on the phone describing a frozen screen for twenty minutes. Easy handoff.

Hino stores know this setup well. In May 2023 Hino Trucks named Procede its preferred DMS provider, the first time Hino gave that title to a single company. Plenty of Hino dealers now run Excede, and every one of them still needs IT under it.

Where Procede Software Support Ends and Store IT Starts

Excede covers accounting, parts, service, lease and rental and vehicle sales, and Procede builds it on Microsoft SQL. It also ties into 11 truck makes, Freightliner, Hino, International, Mack, Peterbilt and Volvo among them. Big reach. Lots of moving parts.

You’ll run Excede one of two ways. Either it sits on a SQL server in your own building or a colocation rack, or it runs in Excede Hosted Services, which Procede built on Microsoft Azure with a 99.9% uptime guarantee and its own monitoring, backups and upgrades. Hosted takes the server off your plate, but the counters, circuits, scanners and shop devices stay at the store with you. Plan for both.

Azure server. Local everything else.

Procede’s side

Excede itself. Updates, setup questions, how a module should behave, the OEM links and the Excede API, plus the servers and database when you run on Excede Hosted Services.

Call Procede when Excede misbehaves.

Your IT side

The SQL server if it sits in your building, plus internet circuits, firewalls, Wi-Fi, PCs, barcode scanners, printers, signature pads, user accounts, multi-factor authentication and the backups you’d restore from on a bad day.

Call Helion for everything Excede runs on.

Store by store

Six Things We Check at Every Procede Excede Store

Before we take the first support call for a Procede store, somebody from Helion walks it. Counter, shop, closet. No exceptions. These six checks come first.

Where Helion fits

Under Excede, around it and between your stores. Procede keeps the DMS current. We keep everything it stands on patched, connected and backed up.

Procede Excede store check Same six checks at every rooftop

1 The SQL server, or the path to Azure

An in-house Excede server is a Windows box running Microsoft SQL that needs patches, monitoring, battery backup and a backup someone has actually restored. On Excede Hosted Services, the path from each store to Azure matters most.

We test a restore before we call the backups good.

2 Circuits between stores

Multi-store groups check parts at the next rooftop over and run reports across all of them, and every one of those lookups rides the same internet circuits your phones, card readers and email already share. Think about that. One weak store slows the group.

We price failover for every store without it.

3 Scanners, printers and signature pads

Procede sells barcode scanning, Parts Pick, signature capture and document signing as add-ons to Excede. Every one of those modules ends at a piece of hardware on a counter, and when a driver update or a Windows patch breaks a scanner at 7 a.m., the parts line backs up out the door. We inventory them.

Count them before the next Excede upgrade, not during it.

4 Shop Wi-Fi

Mobile Service Plus 2.0, released July 2025, puts repair orders, photos and barcode part lookups on phones and tablets in the bay, according to Procede. It has an offline mode. You still want signal.

We map coverage bay by bay.

5 Logins and Microsoft 365

Excede holds customer and financing records, and Power BI reporting leans on Microsoft accounts. Shared counter logins and accounts for people who quit get closed first, with multi-factor authentication on email and remote access.

Departed employees lose access the day they leave.

6 Backups and the Safeguards file

A truck dealer that finances or leases falls under the FTC Safeguards Rule, which expects access controls, encryption, monitoring and oversight of service providers. Procede belongs in that service provider file. So do we.

The file gets updated whenever a vendor changes.

What Helion Brings to Procede Software Stores

82 sec Average time to reach a support agent
98% Client retention rate
2,000+ Automotive and heavy truck dealerships
1997 Working only with dealerships since

Heavy truck groups are part of that base, Peach State Truck Centers and its 12 locations among them. Truck stores don’t keep bankers’ hours. Parts opens before sunrise, the shop runs into the evening, and a lot of rural stores sit hours from the nearest technician, so remote monitoring and a fast pickup do most of the work long before anyone needs to drive out. That’s the job.

How Helion Takes Over IT Support at a Procede Store

  1. 1

    Complimentary assessment

We walk each rooftop and list the Excede server or hosted setup, the circuits and every device on the counter and in the shop.

  2. 2

    Urgent fixes first

Untested backups, shared logins, missing multi-factor authentication and an aging SQL server move to the top of the list.

  3. 3

    Monitor and patch

Servers, PCs and network gear go under remote monitoring, with patches scheduled outside counter hours.

  4. 4

    One number to call

Your people call Helion. If it’s Excede, we bring Procede the details and follow the ticket to the fix.

Running Excede at more than one store?

Bring your store list to a complimentary IT and cybersecurity assessment. We’ll show you where the weak links are.

Does Procede Software provide IT support for Excede?
Procede supports Excede itself, through a U.S.-based support team. The PCs, printers, scanners, network, Wi-Fi and any in-house SQL server at your stores usually fall to your own IT staff or an outside provider like Helion, and that’s the part most dealers only think about on the morning a counter goes down. Your Procede agreement draws the exact line. Read it.
Should we move Excede to Procede’s Azure hosting?
Move it if your store circuits can carry it. Excede Hosted Services takes the server, database backups and upgrades off your hands, with a 99.9% uptime guarantee from Procede. The trade is that every store now depends on its internet circuit, so give any store that can’t run without Excede a second circuit or cellular failover first. Then move.
What does an in-house Excede server need from us?
An in-house Excede server needs Windows and SQL Server patches, monitoring, battery backup and backups that somebody has restored at least once. That’s the list. Procede sets the system requirements, and someone on your side keeps the server inside them.
Why is Excede slow at just one of our stores?
Usually it’s that store’s network, not the DMS. If every other rooftop runs fine, check the circuit, firewall, switch and PCs there before you call it a software problem. A speed and latency test at the parts counter tells you plenty in five minutes. Start there.
We’re a Hino dealer on Excede. Does anything change for IT?
Not much changes for IT at a Hino store. Procede has been Hino’s preferred DMS provider since May 2023 and built Excede integrations with Hino’s own systems, but those links run through the same circuits, firewalls and logins as everything else. Keep them healthy and the integrations have what they need. Same rules apply.
Does Mobile Service Plus need anything from IT?
Yes, good Wi-Fi in the bays and a way to manage the devices. Procede says Mobile Service Plus syncs repair orders with Excede in real time and keeps working offline, then catches up once the device finds a signal again, which matters a lot in a steel building with the bay doors rolled up. A lost phone or tablet should be lockable and wipeable from one place.
Does the FTC Safeguards Rule apply to our Excede data?
If your dealership offers financing or leasing, it does. Excede holds customer records, so access controls, multi-factor authentication, monitoring and oversight of Procede as a service provider all belong in your written security program under 16 CFR 314.4.

Procede keeps Excede current. Helion keeps the stores it runs in connected, patched and backed up.
