Most auto dealers understand that a good reputation is key to growing revenue, and work hard to maintain positive relationships with customers.
But many dealers don’t realize just how easily all that hard work can be lost in the event of a data breach.
“Today, one of the greatest threats to a dealership’s reputation is the threat of a cyber attack,” Erik Nachbahr writes for Dealer Magazine. “Yet most auto dealerships are inadequately managing that risk.”
Nachbahr emphasizes that dealerships must invest in secure IT infrastructure to prevent data breaches and protect their reputations.
