Helion’s President & Founder explains why dealerships should leverage the cloud, not fear it
Some dealerships are behind the times when it comes to cloud computing and storage.
In an article for Auto Dealer Today, Helion’s Erik Nachbahr cautions that relying on in-house servers is a recipe for data breach.
“When you run office and email applications on in-house servers, your IT staff is responsible for monitoring data security,” he writes. “Unfortunately, they’re often limited by budget constraints, lack of time, and lack of expertise.”
This raises the likelihood of software update notifications being ignored, making it easier for cyber criminals to gain access to consumer data.
Nachbahr explains that cloud-based technology offers substantial defenses against cyber attacks and “eliminates much of the cost and hassle of managing an in-house IT infrastructure,” among other benefits.
